Project Overview
A luxury resort operator developing 96 overwater and beachfront villas in the Maldives required shower fixtures capable of withstanding constant salt air and occasional direct seawater exposure — conditions that rapidly corrode standard plated brass and ABS components.
The Challenge
Standard chrome-plated brass faucets and ABS shower heads corrode within 12–24 months in marine environments. The operator's previous supplier had delivered non-marine-grade products that required replacement within 18 months — an expensive and disruptive outcome for an operating resort.
Solution: Marine-Grade Specification
- AQ-S420 Rainfall Shower Head — specified in 316 stainless steel (vs. standard 304), 500-hour salt spray tested
- AQ-R420 Ceiling Rainfall System — outdoor villa shower, all-316 SS construction with brushed satin finish
- AQ-B405 Wall-Mount Basin Faucet — 316 SS with PVD brushed nickel, rated for coastal environments
Outcome
Zero corrosion warranty claims were filed in the first 12 months of operation. The resort manager confirmed the brushed finish remained visually consistent despite the harsh environment. The operator has specified Aquelix fixtures for their next resort development in the Seychelles.
